And so on. Whew. As you can see, I had no problems finding SOMETHING to build. The good news is each particular project had easy to follow blueprints that  came with large schematics that had the right details at each critical juncture in the project. If I needed some help, Ted had a few videos to make things clearer.

If you’re bored or not in the mood to do some woodturning, try some woodworking for a bit to create some variety in your day. You can visit Ted’s site by clicking here.

Woodturning Projects are becoming more and more popular. There are several reasons for this continued rise in popularity. You can take a raw piece of wood and make something of beauty out of it. You can add fine details or leave it looking more solid and robust. You can also find a great deal of projects to do depending on your skill level. However, before you start, you need to be aware of the safety factor when you work with these types of tools.

Making Woodturning Projects often means that you have a lot of shavings and dust flying around in your work area. In order to successfully avoid any type of irritation to your eyes or your nasal passages, you will need to wear some type of protection while you are using your wood working tools. You can find a variety of options for such protection. These options range from facial masks that cover your mouth and nose to full sized helmets that provide a much larger area of protection.

Many of the tools that you will be using when you are making your Woodturning Projects are quite noisy. When you use these types of tools over a long period of time, then you will likely experience damage to your hearing if you do not take adequate steps to protect it. For this reason, you should make sure that you regularly wear ear plugs when you are using these machines. Another option is to invest in a good, high quality pair of noise reducing ear muffs.

Because the wood that you work with when you are making Woodturning Projects will often splinter and crack, you will need to make sure that your hands are fully protected. This means that you will need to invest in a pair of high quality gloves that are suited for such a task. These gloves will also help you to keep a solid grip on your piece of wood as you guide it through the entire process of becoming your chosen project. You will be able to enjoy your hobby of woodturning much more if you are protected from injury.

If you are someone that likes to create art from wood, then you might be interested in giving woodturning a try. It’s one of the few types of working with wood where you move the wood, rather than the tool that is being used to carve it. Once you have the hang of it and are able to do it fairly proficiently, you can set your sights on some of the many available Woodturning project to try. One example is an open segment bowl, which can take up to 500 pieces of wood and about a week’s worth of work.

Other Woodturning Projects that you can try include lidded boxes. They are essentially turned containers that have lids that are turned in a parallel direction to the end’s grain so the bottom and top surfaces become that end grain. It is recommended that you use dry stock for the process, but you can make soft and hard woods work. If you want to try something smaller, you might go with a weed pot. They are designed to hold something very fine like a blade of grass or even an ear of wheat. You can use just about any stock of your choice for these.

There plenty of other Woodturning Projects where those came from. You might want to go even smaller than the weed pot and do something like a toothpick holder that is also a key chain or a ballpoint twist pen. Other things that you can make include light pulls, bottle stoppers, honey sets for use at the breakfast table, tool handles, wooden eggs, footrollers, or a chopsticks and rice bowl set. You can even design a turned wooden bowl of turned wooden fruit if you like, and dress it up with things like apples and bananas.

Anyone that has ever worked with wood and enjoys being creative will really enjoy the things that you can make by turning them. There are quite a few Woodturning Projects that you can use as inspiration, and it’s likely that the more you do, the more ideas of your own you will come up with.
